About HAMNASA

Hamutuk Nasaun Saudável (HAMNASA) is a national, non-government organization in Timor-Leste. HAMNASA (previously Health Alliance International) has worked continuously and closely with the Ministry of Health (MoH) since the country’s independence in 2002, strengthening the national health system, particularly in the areas of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.

To promote healthy communities in Timor-Leste through programs that strengthen the public sector primary health care, engage communities to take an active role in their health, and foster social and health equity.

Our Way of Working

Enabling environment that incorporates a way of working from both demand and supply side and that acknowledges the importance of the cross-cutting issues of gender equality, inclusion and diversity.

Demand side – creating demand from the community for quality health services

Supply side – the health system meets the demand from the community through the provision of skilled health services

Our Organisational Goals

  1. Quality – through high quality program implementation, providing support to staff, and maintaining strong relationships with donors
  2. Growth – secure new funding through diversification of grant portfolio and technical program focus
  3. Organisational strengthening – focus on improving five key areas: governance, finance, operations, programs, and evaluation research
