Last week, HAMNASA, together with representatives from the Australian Embassy (DFAT) and The Asia Foundation team through the Nabilan Program, celebrated the successful completion of the “Fathers for Change” activity with fathers and mothers in Riheu Village, Ermera Municipality.
Over the course of three months, 30 fathers and mothers participated in 18 sessions covering a wide range of important topics, including sex and gender roles, sharing household responsibilities, planning family finances, supporting wives during pregnancy and childbirth, and educating children through non-violent approaches.
โBefore attending this training, only women did the household chores. But through the training, husbands have started helping with washing clothes, cleaning the house, taking care of the children, and cooking.โ โ Participant, Riheu Village
We extend our sincere thanks to all participants, facilitators, and community leaders who contributed to the success of this activity. Together, we are supporting families to sustain these positive changes by continuing to practice healthy and respectful relationships.
